The DAP is in a fairly large box, and the outer silver shell has a high texture. Below it is a foldable box, and the accessories are quite substantial: USB C data cable, black leather case, 2. 5mm-4. 4mm adapter. If the 2. 5mm cable is at hand, the adapter will be a savior.

Overall, I think hig h-end gears should be like this. I don't want you to add a lot of accessories that are cheap or not very functional. Rather, it is better to come with a hig h-quality case or an adapter. Ca y-in who did well.

The movement of the build quality N6II is almost perfect.

Another thing that Ka y-in really emphasizes is the build quality of the product. It applies to the N6II and is literally made like a tank.

Although it is a fairly bulky player, the design and finish are outstanding. Like N3PRO, it has a minimal, fresh and extremely industrial appearance. On the front, we have a bright and sharp 4'2", 1280x768 IPS screen that perfectly complements the almost limitless features of the Android system.

Overall, the Cayin N6ii feels like a really high end device in hand and the design really speaks to me. Like the N3Pro, it offers a great build quality that is very well thought out and functional. Chapeau bas.

I'm not going to go into all the technical aspects of the N6ii.

One thing worth pointing out is that it runs Android ver. 8. 1, which means you can use all the streaming services, optional music player, etc. At the same time, it's very smooth and snappy. After all, who wants to use a laggy player? I wouldn't accept anything less than smooth and snappy performance, especially at this price point.

The E01, E02 and A01 motherboards support up to 32bit/384kHz PCM and 8x MQA decoding, while the T01 supports up to 24bit/192kHz PCM and 4x MQA decoding. But don't be fooled by these numbers, as the difference is (in my opinion) quite insignificant.

The N6ii has built-in Bluetooth 4. 2 and supports LDAC (transmitter and receiver) and aptX (transmitter only). And thanks to HibyLink, you can control the DAP using your smartphone.

Note: I'll be discussing all four motherboards currently available for purchase, but I don't have the E02 in hand, so I don't have a sound impression of this particular motherboard.

The big thing about the N6ii is that it's the first DAP with a swappable audio motherboard. We've had swappable AMP modules in the past (check iBasso), but this time the DAC chip is different too. This means you can get a totally different sounding DAP depending on the MOBO you choose.

Even the unboxing experience of the motherboard is good.

It's easy to replace the motherboard, just remove two upper screws and slide Mobo from DAP. All you have to do is take out new things, slide and screw. This is done.

The package of each motherboard contains a spare screw (this is small and may actually be lost!) And a driver. The attached driver is made of metal, not a $ 1 plastic. By using this product, it makes you feel special.

Simple but high quality.

The sound stage is good, but don't expect a vast space around your head. It's not as wide as the other two modules, and it's a bit unsatisfactory in terms of imaging and overall sense of separation. However, A01 (IMO) is not a big problem because it is for music that does not focus on staging in the first place.

Overall, we recommend using a neutral or slightly sharp sound with A01. To be honest, listening of the progressive rock is completely my favorite, and A01 + ARA spent a lot of listening time during the test. This combination is definitely recommended.

It is time for T01 T01.

The T01 motherboard adopts dual PCM1792 chips and the same OPA1622 X4 as A01. In other words, the difference in the sound is due to the difference in the DAC chip, and as expected, it is not so large. In addition, T01 supports 32/384 and MQA X8, but only 24/192 and MQA X4. As mentioned above, the difference between A01 and T01 is not large, but is definitely noticeable. A01 is more plump, more natural, spacious, while T01 is not wasted, especially the vocal and high range.

The bass is very similar to the A01, but it is not emphasized, and there are few bodies. Nevertheless, it is still a fun and thick sound base, and it will give you a wonderful rhythm and headbobling ability. If you are looking for a bas s-oriented DAP, we recommend A01.

The middle range is similar to the low range. It is a more relaxed, lean, more neutral sound, but in most cases it feels more attractive and rich than A01. The opposite of A01 is the case of a female vocalist. For example, Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks vocals really shine when they are given a little edge from T01, and provide a tone that comes out and inspiring.

In the high range, these two sounds are completely different. T01 is brighter, more emphasized, and reproduced to details compared to a smoother and delicate A01. If you like a metal head or a sound like The Weekend or Post Malone, you will be able to enjoy the hig h-range edges more than the spacious expression of A01.

The sound field is slightly more open and spacious than A01, but not a big difference. In a wide music genre such as symphonic and pink floyd, imaging and separation can be improved and you can experience better.

It is recommended that the T01 module combines the same IEM as the paragraph of A01, but ARA by CFA has begun to sound aggressive in my personal preference. However, the compatibility with Dorado 2020 and Lime Ears Aether R is outstanding.

The E01 motherboard uses ES9038Pro DAC chips and class A/AB amplifiers. Unfortunately, it is more expensive than A01 and T01, and the battery consumes the fastest in class A power mode, 7. 5 hours.

I think E01 is better than A01 and T01 modules in terms of raw audio performance. In terms of tone, it is located in the other two, but is slightly excellent in everything.

The bass is very similar to the A01 when using A class mode. Thick, powerful, attractive, but more clear and accurate. AB mode tilts to T01, but the details and texture are also improved. Both offer a great low range, and the wonderful rhythm and punch are irresistible. In particular, the compatibility with Vision Ears Elysium is outstanding. Vision Ears Elysium lacks lo w-frequency punches and richness because it uses single armature drivers for lo w-frequency response. The middle tone is as attractive and beautiful as A01, but is good and the tone is more natural. The midrange is really A-class, and offers both warmth and impressive technical performance. Regardless of whether it is a male vocal or a female vocal, E01 has a great sound in both A/AB classes. The high range is emphasized by A01 and is slightly reduced than T01. But the important thing is that you can play intimate sounds with such a mastered music and provide great stagings in any genre you want to listen to. At the same time, it is more technically better than A01 and T01, and can maintain a musical, smooth and attractive Caying House sound.

A01 is recommended for those who prefer relaxed and intimate playback, or those who like CAMPFIRE AUDIO ARA and want to keep the high range and the upper part of the middle range slightly.

T01 does not like the most of the three. I do not want to spend more money on E01, but I will only examine it if I need more neutral and bright expressions than A01.

 The sound has weight, body and richness, but everything is heavier, softer and slower than natural. A "fun" or "V-shaped" headphone would benefit from such a presentation, but I don't own or enjoy such sounding headphones. The A01 had more headroom than the Kann, was harder to drive the headphones and was overall more dignified and clearer. The Aeon Closed 2 performed worse on the Kann than the N6ii A01, while the HD 600 was no different.
 
 N6ii T01 - Dual PCM1792A Frankly, to my ears I always enjoy the presentation and implementation of Texas Instruments or TI's PCM Dac chips. If implemented correctly, there is a little bit of "airiness" on the top end, but it's mostly linear.
 
 I feel that the Kain perfectly reproduces the spirit and dignity of the TI PCM series digital audio converters. Linear bass reproduction, perfectly natural midrange, and a slight airiness on the top end. The overall envelope is perfectly balanced to my ears from low to high-mids. Technically, this "airiness" is exaggerated to some extent. However, the top end doesn't feel like it has an emphasized attack, but rather an exaggerated sustain and decay.
 For bright headphones, this can be a bit distracting, but I much prefer even this slight exaggeration to the sluggishness of the "Velvet" sound.
 My long-standing tower stack consists of Hifiman HM901s, with dual ESS Sabre 9018 DAC chipsets. The Sabre DAC, both in its original and most implementations, is linear in the bottom end and aggressive in the midrange and top end.
 
 What I like about the HM 901s is the "vintage" treble rollover filter.
 - In terms of sound quality, they are both best of vests and leaders.
 - However, in my Aeon Close 2, the HM901/Ibasso PB2 stack had a better expression of the texture in the su b-bus frequency. Also, in the HM901/PB2 stack, I felt that a more clear and cohesive space was expressed in trucks with a particularly large drum and heavy bass line. I feel that this is directly related to the improvement of the A2C control.
 In terms of tone, the N6II T01 was just a little more energetic and sometimes I felt it was more airy, but some trucks were better on the N6II T01 and some bad trucks. The N6II T01 headphone impression N6II T01 was very loved by the balance connection between my HD 600 and the ZMF Atoms Copper cable.

 Again, I felt that this combination was almost transparent as a whole. Dan Clark Audio's new Aeon 2 Close is one of the closed backs I like now, but it is easy to drive because it has low impedance, but is low, so if the amplifier is not enough, it hinders the bass growth.

It's been over a month since I got it and I've been enjoying it with my iems. It's working great with my u12t through Labkable's Takumi 2 cable! What more could you want! On to the impressions of this impressive beast. I'm an A01 user and the synergy with Solaris (with Pico power in the amp and iemtach) has kept me from trying different DAPs. That midrange is literally to die for. And the slam on the bass and impact on the kick was enough to keep me interested. So when the E01 was announced I was pretty excited because the A01 was a bad match for my warm sounding u12t. As soon as I paired the E01 with the u12t I fell in love with the chain running the Takumi 2 cable through it (I really don't like the stock cable that comes with the u12t). The rest of the review is using the u12t through the Takumi 2 in class AB mode on the E01 amp. I don't have a VE BIE iem on hand so I can't use it, so the solaris (using class A mode) and the u12t are the only iems I've been able to try with this module so far. Sensitivity I used the E01 at high gain with the Solaris in class A mode without iematch and got no hiss at all. So I don't think noise or hiss will be an issue when paired with a high sensitivity iem. Staging, imaging, separation, overall sound quality: Vast and detailed are the words that best describe it. The stage is vast, expanding the capabilities of the u12t and Solaris to another dimension. There is excellent holography and depth, along with precise imaging and separation. Despite all these impressive results, the sound is cohesive and nothing feels out of place. The A/B mode is generally neutral, while the A mode is warmer. The timbre of the chain is beautiful and natural, and the overall sound is very appealing. The bass texture of Solaris and U12T is another dimension. Slams are very good with the wonderful growth of the low range. Especially in Solaris, it feels like it is really bass. U12T and Solaris, especially U12T, create a crazy level texture. E01 has an exquisite balance between quantity and quality, and is a clear winner for me. Compared to A01, the bass sounds a little weaker, but it is not an unnatural sound, so the transition from A01 to E01 was not a problem at all.
 Rich texture, details. I can't expect any more. In this module, vocals sound lively. When combined with Solaris, the A01 certainly felt rich, but I felt that the details were slightly insufficient compared to the E01. I like the overall structure and the choice of ports, but I am a little dissatisfied with the overall detailed commitment to such flagship machines.  Next is the replacement mechanism of the motherboard. The motherboard does not slide on the rail and is generally very hard, so it is not easy to use. The pixel density is 355 ppi, which will be enough for most people (Apple exceeded what once claimed to Retina). But it's a poor solution, as the trio of buttons is one of the reasons why many people enjoy using their DAPs.~Another issue is that, again, when taking it out of your pocket, the volume wheel scrolls a lot. It's fine when you're using it handheld, but I turn both of these buttons off while the device is locked to save my sanity. At least the buttons are clicky, have good feedback, and the volume wheel has a satisfyingly crisp step.

 The overall operation is almost smooth, but sometimes there is a problem. Despite the fact that it has such a large RAM, the aggressive background task management (it seems to have been adopted to save battery, but still it is a huge pain) often disappears. Restart. There is also a strange bug where the setting app crashes every time you try to turn on / off the battery saver. When the song is played, the first second is often skipped (probably because the buffer is limited). When the Cayin Music app is open, the volume dial freezes and the overlay is not displayed. The Cayin Music app does not stop playing even if the headphone jack is pulled out. Tidal has an irregular lag in the UI, sometimes takes time to organize itself. I really think that Cayin is using a better processor instead of SD425. With something like SD636, the overall liquidity would have increased many times.
 
 Since I am a software developer, such troublesome problems particularly bother me and pointed out the general lack of QA/ usability tests. Recent consumers are no longer tolerant anymore, and irritating bugs may not make good products ideal. 3. 5/5
 
 Connection: It has a necessary Wi-Fi (of course dual band AC) and blueutooth (unfortunately 4. 2 type and not 5. 0). Reception is reasonable, the BT range is satisfactory and supports LDAC. There are Type C and S/PDIF, and the I2S mentioned above. This is perfect (except BT 5. 0) unless all the basses are covered and 4G/ cellular support is really needed for some reason. 4. 5/5
 Battery driving time: 6000mAh, which is equipped with a huge battery, so the battery driving time of N6 II is expected to be very long.
 6000mAh battery. This is almost twice as double that of most smartphones, and should have at least half a day on the documents.
 Reality is sad. First of all, the battery is worn out, as the battery seems to be exhausted even when the power is turned off. Second, in normal operation, depending on the motherboard, the battery may be punctured in 6 to 7 hours of playback.
 If you want the best battery life, you have to stick to the A01 motherboard. Both the T01 motherboard and the E01 motherboard (IMO with excellent sound quality) will smoke juice faster than bees. Usually, if you listen to music via A01 via Tidal/Spotify or stream online, you should have about three days in one charge. T01 was the worst in my experience, and the old design chipset had to completely eat power and finally rushed to the charger a day and a half. The E01 is a bit better, and it may be possible to play for another hour, but most of the playback is 7 to 8 hours.
 Charging takes a lot of time because of a larg e-capacity battery. According to Cayin, it seems to support Quick Charge 3. 0, but SD425 only supports QC 2. 0. In any case, I can't complain because there is some form of Quick Charging, but it still takes time to reach 100 %, so the same as the Xiaomi and OPPO/OnePlus ultra hig h-speed charging technology in the future. It will be needed for the product. Certainly, the E01 is equipped with a desktop DAC chip (ESS 9038PRO) and operates in discrete class A (when switching to A/B mode, the batter y-driving time will be further improved by about an hour and a half). Nevertheless, it cannot explain the exhaustion of the standby battery and the overall poor standby power management.  Select a comparison
 
 LG G7: I personally want to check the first thing I want to check is whether the DAP in question is much higher than my Portable Onzago solution, LG G7. The G7 has a lack of output power when combined with a low impedance load, which is due to the LG decision to adjust the output voltage "dynamically", which is absolutely unfortunate. Well ...
 
 In terms of overall usability and handling, the G7 is better than any DAP in the world. But we are here for absolute sound quality, and the N6ii delivers on that front. It runs even very power hungry low impedance low sensitivity IEMs like the Final E5000 with plenty of volume left.

 vs Questyle QP1R : The QP1R is my personal daily DAP and one of the few DAPs with a built-in Class A amplifier. But it uses an old chipset that is almost 4 years old. I personally prefer the design of the QP1R, and there's a reason for that. The volume knob is nearly impossible to mis-activate, and the back and front Gorilla Glass panels (rather than the usual tempered glass on the Cayin) are "embossed" into the aluminum housing, making it better built than the Cayin in some ways. However, the navigation and overall operation feel archaic and cumbersome compared to the much more modern N6ii. It also lacks the balanced output (A01) and A/B amplification mode switch (E01) of the Cayin DAP, as well as the modularity aspect.
 
 Sound-wise, the E01 motherboard has more output than the QP1R, but the difference is not that big in terms of specs. Both can drive low sensitivity IEMs and high impedance headphones like the HD650 with satisfying volume and enough bass punch. They can't handle weak planars, though. The sound signature is pretty similar between the two, and the slight difference I noticed could be due to the N6ii having a slightly higher output impedance (0. 15Ω vs. 0. 6Ω). Sonically, when volume-matched in class A, both are very similar. In A/B mode, the Cayin is more energetic but a little less refined.
 
 In short, the N6II seems to be a natural upgrade of QP1R. Questyle can execute for those who want to use Tidal and those who want to use such services without losing the sound quality of the QUESTYLE player, because QUESTYLE sticks to the latest QPM. It will provide an upgrade path.
 
 Yulong Canary: Well, comparison with desktop DAC/ amplifier combo. The two are completely different classes, so they are a bit unfair comparison, but I checked how much DAP could follow the desktop solution.
 
 As a result, honestly, it was quite good. CANARY was clearly high output and seemed to have a slightly better separation as a whole, but the N6II struck back in low output impedance, selecting and changing many reconstructed filters.
 
 Yes, the N6II is not a substitute for a desktop system, but you can experience the same on the go.
 
 [Unfortunately, I couldn't get the FIIO M15 demonstration machine during the review period, so I couldn't post this impression. The M15 arrives at hand and I will upload it here as soon as I compare it with the QP1R (because QP1R and N6II have many common points in sound).
 
 In the end, the N6II was cursed by the fruits of the flagship device facing all tests and hardships faced with the flagship device. Cayin focuses on sound tuning, which is not a benchmark champ, but no matter which IEM/ headphone you throw, you cannot find the flaws of the sound signature. Except for the famous headphones for driving, you will be able to secure enough volume and sound your gear as good as possible. Switching motherboards also have many possibilities. Needless to say, it's a great build quality.
 
 There is no complaint about the sound and making of the N6II, but the other parts are not good. The design is not unique, it is far from a benchmark setter with asymmetric bezels and home buttons. Some people will ridicule that there is only one microSD slot (although SD cards of 500GB or more are available), and some people may have problems with trigger happy playback buttons / headphone output positions like me. 。
 
 But the biggest problem may be on the battery and the OS. The use of a fairly old 28nm (!) Node is clearly not the help of power management. With a newer SOC, for example, SD636, it would not only reduce the operation of DAP, but also reduce power consumption.
 
 Despite all the caveats, I covet the N6ii. It doesn't tick all the boxes, but it does tick the most important box - sound quality.
 
 The N6 Mk 2 comes with a cautious recommendation, and will suit anyone willing to pay for one of the best sounds in a portable device. But if you're too sensitive about peripheral issues, the entire high-end DAP market is likely to disappoint you. Most DAPs are more or less hard to use, buggy, have obviously limited software, or strange design choices that make them less user-friendly. Maybe one day DAP manufacturers will follow the lead of mobile phone manufacturers, but until then, it'll be a rocky road.

 - I've had the N6MKII since late October last year. Since I got the N6MKII late October last year, I've torn it apart and taken some beautiful photos. However, software issues (on my part, not Cayin's) have prevented me from testing it much. (Sorry to Cayin and whoever is next in line for a review.)
 - The N6MKII is beautifully made and a nice brand, but it's not for me. The N6MKII is beautifully made and a nice brand, but it's not for me, because I'm a mid-range guy and the N6MKII is clearly aiming above that.
 - The biggest problem of n6mkii is lithium ion. Even if the power is turned off, the battery consumption does not take less than a week. Even if the music is played, the battery is worn (less than 15 hours), but if it browsing, playing with various controls, or replacing the album, it will immediately cut less than 10 hours. Not bad considering that power. However, the DAP and other audio devices I usually use are stable for 15 hours even in the harshest usage. Many TOTL DAPs are the same for fairness, but in order to make it more fair, it should be the same as a on e-time charging one day of modern work and commuting to home. The most frequently used audio device is an MD recorder, and the battery playback time is less than 15 hours, and some exceed 20 hours. And there is my COWON PLENUE DAP, and it works for more than a day. Onkyo's DP-S1 has more than 20 hours.
 - The second biggest problem of n6mkii is a robot. Under the bonnet, there is a robust Android OS that can be played with any file type, connect to a Google Play store, and browse both media and web like a smartphone. The problem is that N6MKII is neither smart nor as smart or faster than a general Android mobile phone in Google or Sony. The latest iPod touch is integrated deeper.  - Some Android touches, such as swip e-down access to audio and other settings, robust file systems, and better lock screen controls, are better than the iOS difficult OS sandbox. Regarding the volume control, Cayin read my email. 100 levels? Rounding screen that can be operated by touch? Plus / negative control? Proper than it looks? amazing. If you add an attenuator / main combination control, Bob is your uncle.
 - Aside from a small victory, N6mkii is still a boat. At the top is a stereo line output (SPDIF combo output), 3, 5mm stereo, and 4, 4mm Trrs balance output. Both headphones are the most powerful I have used so far. On the right side is a combination of attenuator and main dial, tracking back, playback/ pause, and tracking forward control. There are USB-C and I2S port at the bottom. The latter is quite novel in DAP. I have only used it in a home DAC.
 - The whole is well fitted in the cu t-out aluminum block. The seams are perfect. The edge is kind. And I don't like the style of style, but I have to admit that Cay Inn's calm branding is fresh. The attenuator is hidden between the two protected horns and is not easily traced unilaterally. But tracking control is so. I inadvertently press it every time I pick it up. Thankfully, you can disable the setting app.
 - N6MKII is a boat for me. And you can handle it like that. N6MKII has an output at the top, so he tilts forward, has to hit the attenuator or navigation button, and gets caught in something when putting it in a pocket or out. Also, when putting or out of the pocket, it gets stuck in an object. Even if you hold it in your hand, the cable from the top is difficult to handle.
 A nice leather case is included. That case protects everything you need, but it is difficult to access the swip e-down menu. Hmm.
 
 Cayin has a small but abundant afte r-market amplifier module for N6MKII, all of which are powerful and compatible with specific listeners and use cases. Aside from whether or not each can be measured, it is separated by a separately differentiated performance curve.
 
 It also has the latest Bluetooth, but it is not suitable for smartphones because of the antenna design. For example, if you use AirPods Pro on a sunny day, you can reach only 20 meters from N6MKII, 60 meters away from the iPhone.
 
 The N6MKII has almost fully realized gapless playback. The error is small even if you play it forcibly. On the contrary, errors rarely appear. In other words, there is no longer needed cueeet or other workarounds. Live music, my favorite trance set, many studio albums and classic albums will be satisfied.
 
 You won't see much DAP with less hisss as this bad boy. As far as I know, it is located between the iPhone SE and the AK380, both of which are essentially noise.
 
 The Cayin Music app and its related settings are impressive. A total of seven DA C-level PCM ant i-alias filter settings (sherprau l-off, slow roll off, shor t-dele t-shirop, shor t-delailer thrill rol l-off, super chambrea k-off, super slow rol l-off, low distributed short delay) are specific. It has a great effect on no n-digitization or digitization of music. Of course, my favorite is SUPER SLOW ROLL-OFF. Remove the peaks of my favorite earphones and soften harsh music.
 
 Except for Burson's Fun, the N6MKII easily surpasses the output power of all desktop audio amplifiers and DACs that I own or owned. Of course, Fun is as crazy as Crazy Sheek in Rise of Skywalker. As the hardware test proves, the N6MKII also sends sufficient current to the earphones, headphones, and lin e-out, and guarantees music with no frequency fluctuations.
 
 It also means that the stereo signal is truly separated, regardless of the load. In fact, N6MKII is one of the few mid and hig h-end DAPs I used, which treats harsh loads as a pos t-processing of stereo. Certainly, the Earsonics SM2 shows a stereo load effect higher than the DT880/600. However, the effect is basically even Steven from 20Hz to 20. 000Hz. And the same can be said for all the loads I tested. Such controls are really impressive. However, I want a lo w-level control for cross feed. Why? I love headphones, but I really like listening to music in two or one system that both channels reach both ears.
 
 Even with sharp rol l-off, N6MKII has an invincible lo w-pass filter. It began to descend slowly from 10. 000Hz, continued to 20. 000Hz, and my system becam e-1db. Yes, it is inevitable at all, but because someone should always mention it, I decided to make the bell sound first.
 
 N6MKII can output a stereo paration o f-90db or more in Earthonics SM2, even if the volume level is far beyond the general pain threshold. Of course, at the normal listening level, this figure decreases. Bu t-90db is not a mockery. In fact, all the measured values returned by n6mkii are worthy of respect.
 
 Nevertheless, N6MKII is not a measurement king. N6MKII emphasizes power and feeling more than absolute signals. The vocals emerge on the front when the stereo fades on the side. A gentle reverb and soft and muscular trembling really brings a gentle emotion and feel from the female vocals.
 
 Another thing that NK6II is perfect is a lo w-frequency stereo feeling. The lo w-frequency texture resolution, from good to wonderful, is the stereo reverb and wide set gradation gently pushing out the most important details from the surroundings and paying attention to the center. If you combine an excellent ultr a-lo w-speed lo w-pass filter to this, the peaky audi o-technical CK10 will make it beautiful with a soft edge that is comparable to any hig h-end earphone.
 
 Aside from the output power, all of them can be passed to your favorite DAC or MD recorder via the light output. In other words, if you connect N6MKII to your favorite MD recorder in SPDIF, you will get another master of your favorite album. amazing.
 
 I hate the stylish n6mkii decorations. I don't like the position of the navigation button. I don't like the implementation of Android. I wish I could improve the battery. In short, Cayin is on a long way between design and utility. Nevertheless, they succeeded in hospitality on a clean decimal volume scale, hig h-speed UI, and excellent screens. The N6MKII is as well as the same as any TOTL DAP in the world. What's even more wonderful is that sound. No, it can not be measured as some hig h-end DAPs (or some lo w-end DAP), but applying an appropriate DAC filter gives a really breathtaking sound. N6MKII also demonstrates sufficient power in 600Ω Bayer Dynamics, and has sufficient performance in many plasticanes that require voltage.

 Awesome. Best build I've ever seen on a DAP. The motherboard slides without wobbling, the threads are well cut, the player is solid and sturdy, the buttons and volume wheel feel solid and have good feedback, the edges of the player body are rounded, and the audio output is mounted on the top (thank goodness). For me, this player sets the standard for build quality.

 I'm not a fan of Android for DAPs, but the implementation on the N6ii is very well done. The OS is very stripped down and responsive. It comes with the Play Store pre-installed, which opens up a world of apps. The player comes with the Cayin Music app pre-installed (based on the HiBy Music app, which is also pre-installed). I have a few other apps on my phone (OnkyoHF), but I find the Cayin app easier to use. The information banner at the top is very useful, showing volume level (real), audio output (BAL/SE/L. O), WiFi/Bluetooth, sample rate, battery %, and time. The top pull-down menu shows customization options specific to the N6ii (gain settings, digital output, BAL settings, WiFi, Bluetooth, audio settings), general settings, and screen brightness. A single press of the volume wheel button toggles the screen on/off, while a long press brings up the reboot/power off menu. It's pretty intuitive. Searching for songs in Cayin's app is easy, but I found the font size to be a bit small. I love EQing to my liking. The EQ in Cayin's app is OK, but not great. It quickly becomes distorted unless you turn the gain down and tweak it. I wish there was a parametric universal EQ (e. g. Cowon & iBasso DX220). Overall the screen is clean, the app loads quickly, and the settings are easily accessible. One thing I don't like is that when you operate the volume wheel, a volume level popup appears, obscuring what you're looking at. It goes away after a few seconds, but I would like an option to get rid of this popup and just show the volume change in an information banner at the top. Ergonomics It is a pretty solid player, but it fits well in his hand. All physical controls are perfect for righ t-handed people. The thumb reached the entire screen without stretching too much, so it rarely accidentally operated. Despite the relatively thickness, the N6II + leather case fits well in the pocket, but many times (even if the protective shoulder is attached), the volume wheels are accidentally operated. Will the future motherboard be equipped with a physical Rocks Rider? Placing all audio outputs at the top is a true victory for me. This is very convenient when or lying down in the car. USB C is a welcome additional function, and you will never make a mistake in the USB. Replaced motherboard For me who loves to play with, the Motherboard Approach, which can be exchanged for Cayin, is interesting. Basically, you can get a new audio train including DAC/ AMP/ output. Bass: OK, not overwhelmingly overwhelming listeners, but everything is available. Middle sound: The expression of the midrange is wonderful, probably the leading role of A01. The vocals are weighted and powerful, and the guitar is a natural sound. High tone: The treble is well mixed with the upper mid. The vocals have definitely benefited from A01. Overview: If you listen to acoustic music or vocal music well, you will be particular about A01. I often listen to rock and EDM, so A01 is not my ideal sound signature. Black Sabbat h-Children of the Sea (Flac) -The extra bass as in T01 complements this song. Vocal and Tony's beautiful guitar riffs glow. T01 has a slightly weaker attack than A01, but the overall composition is wonderful. I like the slightly holographic sound. PORTISHEA D-NUMB (FLAC) -Base available. Very fun and musical. It's a bit less natural than A01, but that's my favorite. Women vocals are also good. INFECTED MUSHROO M-Heavy Weight (FLAC) -Extra bass brings out the energy of this truck. The treble is more stretchy, making the soft ending of this song more prominent. Koshee n-SPIES (FLAC) -Very musical performance, but more energy than A01. Bass: Good bass for rock and EDM, not the best I've heard, but natural and hits hard when needed. Mids: Very similar mids to the A01, natural and weighty. Treble: Extended treble gives the song a sense of air and space. Nice splash of symbols, essential for rock. Overall: The T01 is my preferred motherboard. The A01 is more natural, the T01 is more musical to my ears. Worth upgrading. The N6ii is £999 and has some strong competition. The N6ii with the T01 motherboard provides hours of great natural and musical sound. Compared to my Cowon M2, I still prefer the Cowon's sound, thanks to the crazy DSP. But the N6ii has the best connectivity, the best battery life (and fast charging!) and is one of the most future-proof players. I'm very interested to see what motherboard options will become available in the future (there are three options as of the time of writing this article).  Well, this is the only area that is a little annoying for me. U12T has no civilism at all, but Solaris has some bad recording. For this reason, I guess that Improng, which has a lot of decimal sound, may be incompatible. Licring sound seems to be noticeable when used in the AB class mode of E01, and it is improved when switched to A mode. But strangely, in wel l-recorded trucks, it doesn't seem to be a major problem. Overall, the extension is wonderful, and it is clearly expressed without the glitter of the typical terrible Saber that I am used to. The combination of U12T and E01 has a very stunning high range, clear, clear, air feeling and details. Not too wet, not too thin, not glass. It's a perfect sound for me!
 - The difference between class A and class A/B mode The bass texture of Solaris and U12T is another dimension. Slams are very good with the wonderful growth of the low range.  Let me explain why I'm so particular about why I am so particular about the first opening experience of the product. It may be because my roots are southern people in the eastern hills of Kentucky, but when I first introduce myself to someone, I will appeal to myself with confidence, elegance, quality, pride, and abilities. I grew up in front of me. Greet the other party with a true warm smile, eye contact, and a hard handshake. If it is less or short, you don't care about that person, you're too busy, or you're too busy with your partner. Or even worse, it implies that it is generally rude.
 As a consumer, I also stick to this belief when opening a new product. Why? I think like this. Is there another way for companies to introduce them to their customers? How do you show your company's products? Are you proudly packaging and how the listeners want to listen to the story? Or maybe it is just placed in a vacant space. What about the box itself? Isn't it crowded with jargon? I am better than any of the products in the market, and read this for that. Or is it a clean, simple and elegant package? It's like a customer, "I'm honored to meet you. Please listen to me, show me what I can, and forgive me that my actions are eloquent than my words. "
 This is the reason I feel strongly about the first presentation of the product, and I feel it is really disappointing that the number of people will not do so. Aside from that, let's explain how this product was introduced.
 I'm not a Chevrolet fan, but when I get Kane N6II, my old commercial and song "Like A Rock" come to my mind. This work is not only a rock that feels like a rock, but also has the weight to join it. I rarely say this in DAP, and I don't recommend trying it out, but I'm confident that DAP will be OK even if I drop the N6II in the worst scenario. Cayin made it to make this unit last longer.
 
 If you look at the main unit, a very good 4. 2-inch touch screen display will be greeted in front. When the N6II is turned to the right, there is a power button / volume dial, trackback button, playback / pause button, and song feed button from above. If you rotate the main unit to the left side, there is a micro SD card slot, and Cayin is tested up to 512GB (I have only tested a 200GB card). On the bottom of the N6II, there are I2S type C mini HDMI ports (I do not use this component, I have not tested) from the left. Finally, there is a business end at the top of the N6II. There is a motherboard that can be replaced at the top of the N6II, with a 4. 4mm balanced sport from the left, a 3. 5mm imbalanced sport, and a 3. 5mm line outport from the left. The optional T01 motherboard is exactly the same except that the 4. 4mm balance output is a line output.
 
 Well, this is the only area that is a little annoying for me. U12T has no civilism at all, but Solaris has some bad recording. For this reason, I guess that Improng, which has a lot of decimal sound, may be incompatible. Licring sound seems to be noticeable when used in the AB class mode of E01, and it is improved when switched to A mode. But strangely, in wel l-recorded trucks, it doesn't seem to be a major problem. Overall, the extension is wonderful, and it is clearly expressed without the glitter of the typical terrible Saber that I am used to. The combination of U12T and E01 has a very stunning high range, clear, clear, air feeling and details. Not too wet, not too thin, not glass. It's a perfect sound for me!

 - Cayin is an Androi d-based DAP equipped with N6II with 8. 1 Oreo. Is there an Android operating system that doesn't have a built-in Wi-Fi? That's right. That's why Cayin has a dual band (2. 4 & amp; 5 GHz) function. I used this feature to listen to YouTube AMV, but some are Tidal and other cool ones.
 For those who like wireless skills, Cayin is equipped with Bluetooth 4. 2 on the N6II, added LDAC so that all music can be heard in lossless. Finally, and perhaps the biggest feature, the N6ii allows you to replace the motherboard with other Cayin motherboards (I tested the default A01 and the optional T01). This is not a unique feature to Cayin, but it is a concept that you rarely see, and for me, it has a big impact on the lifespan of the product. Cayin's implementation of the N6ii is not only simple, but also very stylish. Replacing the motherboard is as easy as unscrewing the two screws on the back with the included screwdriver and carefully replacing the motherboard using the lip on the back.

 Before we start this section. It goes without saying that I link YouTube videos when giving examples, but this is just for convenience. If possible, I highly recommend listening to the music I'm referring to in as high quality as possible to experience the best possible sound.
 
 For a high-end, or any high-end digital audio player, the most important thing is the sound. In this first chapter, I will focus on the default A01 motherboard, and then switch to the optional T01 model. When I pressed the play button on the N6ii for the first time, my first and most immediate thought was, "Hot! Wow!" The N6ii's sound is a warm, slightly southern sound that is audiophile-friendly in the neutral areas, but musical enough to satisfy a dirty casual user like me. I fully understand that this unit is $1, 200, which is no small amount, but the level of detail retrieval I got from this portable unit rivals the power of my desktop unit. The song I like to use to check the micro details is "Po Lazarus" by James Carter & The Prisoners. Around the middle of the song, there is a scene where a bucket is picked up and moved, but the sound can only be heard by high-end or first-class items, and you can hear small stones moving around inside.
 
 It's hard to explain the N6ii and the A01 motherboard, but here's the best way to do it. Whatever type of music you're listening to, you'll have that kind of experience. For me and my ears, as I said at the beginning, the A01 is a very neutral sound that I can easily imagine becoming a reference for many audiophiles due to its detail reproduction and dynamic capabilities.
 
 A side note about the A01, and the T01, this unit (N6ii) shows its best abilities with Iams (even ultra-sensitive customs) and low-output headphones. It has enough power for headphones like my Sennheiser HD650 and HD660 S, but when it comes to higher output headphones, the difference between the desktop and portable setup becomes more obvious. However, the loss of dynamics and bass punch doesn't necessarily disappoint (depending on the headphones, of course).
 
 Now onto the T01 motherboard module. I love this module and the moment I pressed play, I knew right away that this was going to be my preferred module. The T01 takes a warmer approach musically, whereas the A01 focuses on neutrality, and it works well. Vocals come forward immediately, and bass is just a little harder. Acoustic instruments like guitars sound more surreal, and I couldn't stop enjoying the music and lost track of time writing this review. A perfect example is "The Last of The Mohicans" performed by Luca Storicagnoli. With the T01, the guitar sounds more pronounced, and I felt like I was sitting in the room with him playing. Male vocals like Johnny Cash and Trace Adkins have life and you can really feel the emotion that is often lost in neutral sounding products. The high frequencies are not lost, but they are more recessed or roll off quickly compared to the A01's sibling. However, if you look objectively, you may notice that the high-pitched instruments (such as symbols) lose their resonance and lose realism.
 
 In summary, I enjoyed the time with Cayin's latest Summit Fai DAP. I have everything I want from DAP, very well, and finished. I don't use DAP much, but I still know that Cayin's N6II is special. If you add a function to upgrade your motherboard, it will effectively become a future product, and the value of the amount of investment will only increase. If you are looking for a to p-class summitfi DAP, we strongly recommend Cayin and its N6II. If you value neutrality, you should be more satisfied with the default A01.  This is a modular player and has a standard A01 module. T01 modules were also provided for reviews. The module unlocks the chassis with two T05 torque screws at the top of the player. After that, the module is brought out. T01 was in the box with the attached driver. Thinking deeply, both modules have the same output port (balance 4. 4, imbalance 3. 5, line output 3. 5) at the top. There is a digital output and a USB C port at the bottom. There is a microSD port on the left. This is exposed from the case and can be accessed. Under the mult i-function pot on the right, there are three buttons for playback/ pause and track select.
 
 Cayin immediately turns on and moves almost no skin and has a good tempo. Thanks to the Snap Dragon 425 SOC used for midrange mobile phones, it is very suitable for this task. In Developer mode, all graphics are turned off so that the operation is lighter. Drop-down shades include regular icons such as gain, output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and audio settings. This shade was possible, but no icon in the i n-flight mode was found.
 
 The standard installed is the Hiby Music and the Cayin version of the player's options. There are many detailed options such as playback mode, replay gain, and USB audio. It is convenient if such a thing is needed, but otherwise it can be completely ignored. I only use the player offline. Do not use streaming, USB, Bluetooth DAC mode. I want to make it simple.
 
 The Hiby Musi c-based app used in the N5II before was especially unpleasant to say, especially for the creation and management of playlists, because of the poor hardware response and useless UI. The UI is still too crowded, and multiple buttons are set to do a lot of things. The truck encuse is still not good. The buttons to be added to the playlist should be one, not from two menus. Eventually, I left it as it was and played my test list randomly. Other players did not download. I don't feel it has been particularly improved. It is recommended to download your favorite player instead.
 
 In some of the reviews, I had to put N6II in my pocket. You can't use the hardware button unless the screen is on, that is, you can't use it unless you push the volume pot. No menus or options for changing this behavior were found anywhere.
 
 The wireless firmware update was relatively easy, but I tried many times to connect Cayin to the wireless network. I don't know what has changed, but it was eventually stable. Updated to 1. 18EN for this review. The audio settings include the most convenient toogles, such as ant i-aliasing settings for PCM and DSD, digital output, gain, line output, and volume correction. The 4. 2-inch IPS screen is bright and colorful, and there is no delay or edge drop. The return button at the bottom of the screen is always lit as a confident white circle.

 A01 Sound:
 
 Warm, intimate, but powerful, fresh and easy. Very ... "Vinyl". The entire frequency characteristics are warm, support the sound and lifts, but does not cover the details. The sound is neither fluid, not unclear, it's really fun. While there is power and control, the sound stage is average, but the details and depth are packed. All IEMs I used responded to this warmth and control, and it was a pleasant and comfortable sound. None of the IEMs did not make any unusual sounds, mismatched sounds, or dissonance.
 
 T01 sound:
 
 The module was more mid/ vocal, the sound stage was wide, and I felt it was a more balanced response. Transals are more crispy, bass is more dry but detailed, and vocals are a bit wide and more neutral. Personally, I prefer this module for music (EDM, funk, deep house, etc.) I listen to. Probably, I will pay the dust of the IBASSO AMP1MK2 module and compare it with T01.
 
 Comparison of DX228:
 
 To be honest, during the first few days of testing, I was hoping for more detail, power, and energy from the DX228. Once I let go of that and settled into the sound of the N6ii, I really enjoyed what the Cayin had to offer. I didn't use the iBasso for 10 of the 12 days I had the N6ii. Overall, the DX228 has a wider soundstage, more crisp but not sizzling transients, and better resolution. The bass extension is perhaps not as deep as the Cayin, but it has more detail.
 
 Conclusion:
 
 The Cayin ended up winning me over with a seamless blend of musicality, fun, and pace. I appreciate the responsive hardware and UI, solid build, and modular design. If I didn't own the DX228, I would consider this as an alternative.

In recent years, they have been interested in nomadic Hi-Fi, especially DAPs, and offer very good service at an attractive price.  Visual and Ergonomics
 
 There's no denying the similar look between the N8 and the N6ii, but the N6ii uses the knobs and the chamfers on the bottom and right side of the N8 for a more sober and effective look. The dimensions are comparable, but the scale and copper buttons have reduced the weight by 100 grams. On the other hand, the screen is larger, and there's now access to the playstore, which will please streaming app fans especially, and the ability to install your favorite playback app instead of Cayin Music.
 
 Cayin Music playback software (Hiby Music's twin brothers) is very comfortable to use and makes user experience more fun than N8. I think that the reactivity is particularly improved, such as the display of the cover. The menu is not more complicated than N8, so you can easily start using it. There is one thing that has already been nervous at the N8. That is, when the song is paused, it will automatically restart when you press the back key and return to the beginning of the song (the next song is the same). Certainly, it's a particular thing, but it's especially worrisome in using it on a daily basis.
 
 I do not intend to compare the difference in the output of each card here. I didn't have time, and I could only borrow 12 days including YB04. However, one certain thing is that two types of DAC/ amplifier cards (A01 and T01, and another E01 will be released) have already been released, each of which is 3. 5mm line output, 3. 5mm output, 4. 4mm. There are three outputs: output (T01 can also have a line output), and you can set up some easy to listen to on the menu, so you can find the sound that suits you according to the application.
 
 My feedback was listened to 4. 4mm output (my favorite output) of DAC/AMP A01 and T01 cards using PW1950 cable. I was able to test the N6II with Cayin Yb04, INEAR PROPHILE 8, ITSFIT LAB Fusion, and Jomo Trinity IEM.
 
 In addition, we were able to compare with two DAPS, Sony WM1Z K Mod Premium and Lotoo LPG.
 
 The first test on Cayin N6II was the rol l-off of the parameter. What I chose in two DAC/ amplifiers was short delay/ slow rolls. It is thanks to this position that the N6II is the most natural and alive.
 
 As soon as you connect the IEM to the N6II with this configuration, you will notice that it is a very organic player, just like what N8 provides. The sound is plump, dense, sensual, and can be expressed smoothly throughout the frequency characteristics. The tone is very beautiful. The upper and lower growth is average, the bass is slightly cotto n-like, and the treble has no exaggeration. The overall speed is actually focused on the groove. Finally, it's a sweaty voice reminiscent of a woman's voice, especially the cabaret and jazz club in the 1960s. The resolution, separation, clarity, and transparency of magic square seem to be very balanced at a good level, but this module does not shine much.
 
 The most important thing in A01 is musicality and midrange.
 
 In T01, the expression changed while maintaining the DNA. The musicality is alive, but it has become more neutral and technical. Dynamics increased, both bass and treble, and the impact became heavy and dry, making it more airy. The low and middle tones are a bit thin for me, and the hig h-middle sounds feel more thrown. As a result, the voice is slightly lowered to the instrument, and the sound scene increases the width and depth. Overall, the air has increased, and magic square has improved at all levels, and especially the separation has improved.
 
 In T01, musical neutrality and techniques are obtained.
 
 Comparison with Sony WM1Z K Mod Premium 3. 02
 
 Whatever the DAC/ amplifier card used, the N6II provides the following: -It is inferior to the details of the high and middle range (T01 is very close to the middle range) -It is inferior to the controlled low range.  Following N8, Cayin's again. Music and easy to handle the N6II is a winner who satisfies analog playback fans. In addition, the module DAC/ amplifier card suggests the possibility of improving rendering. Looking at the results so far, this is a very good sign.

 There are a few DAPs and DAC/amps with modular amplifiers these days, but the N6ii goes a step further and modularizes the entire audio chain. All the decoding and amplification functions are housed on this audio daughter card, from the digital input via the card connector at the bottom of the module to the output terminals at the top. As far as I know, the only DAP with such functionality is the little-known Xuelin H8, which has four slots for DAC, amp, link and LPF cards. Currently, two modules for the N6ii are available, with others to arrive at a later date. To replace the module, power off the player, remove the two screws at the top of the back, and lift the current module out of the slot. When fitting the new module, you should apply gentle pressure, but do not force it. Make sure the module is fully seated, replace the screws, and then power it on. It is not recommended to replace the module with the power on. The current choices are the A01 (AKM-based) or the T01 (Ti-based). The two are very similar in some ways, but also clearly different in others. Both have four OPA1622 opamps as the amplifier part of the circuit, so the output is similar, but the A01 with AK4497EQ chip uses a digital volume control, while the T01 with dual Ti1792A dac chips relies on two Burr-Brown PGA2311A analog volume controls.  Today (12/6), Cayin has released a third module for the N6II named E01. This new model is based on the ESS9038Pro DAC chip, and uses 4 channels each for the left and right output. The amplification is performed by a new circuit using discrete parts, rather than a read y-made operational amplifier, such as the A01 or T01 module. E01 also provides users with a function to switch between true class A amplification (for absolute sound quality) and class AB amplification to improve battery life.  Control / UI:
 
 It is difficult to write this section because the N6II can freely use your favorite apps. The tour unit included Cayin and Hiby Music apps. I added Neutron and USB Audio Player Pro, but there was no problem with all the software versions I tried. Android is almost completely unlocked (except for developers options), so there are plenty of options to fin e-tune the UI according to your taste.
 
 Connection:
 
 The N6II supported dual band wireless LAN, and there was no problem with the connection to the office and home network, but only one exception. One office network is an open network and is redirected on the page of the Terms of Use before leaving the user. The N6II could not display the splash page at the time of connection, and could not display the splash even if the browser was opened manually. In an environment where such a wireless system must be used, you should try it before purchasing the N6II and check if it works well. After the connection, there was no problem to stream Spotify, Tidal, and Qobuz via each app.
 
 Bluetooth is compatible with AptX and LDAC, which is very easy to use. The pairing can be done as expected from the setting menu, and once connected, it turned out that the N6II was about 30 feet from the device to the endpoint until the signal began to be interrupted. In most cases, the connection cannot be cut if there is one inner wall, but it was found that the second inner wall was almost completely disconnected. Returning to the range, the reconnection was automatically performed, and the play button was just quickly pressed and it was restored.
 
 Battery life
 
 The duration of the battery has been mentioned a bit in the module description, but it is necessary to add more. The unit has a 5900mAh cell, and if the A01 module is used with a 3. 5mm headphone output, a battery driving is possible for about 13 hours. When Bluetooth was enabled, the time of Bluetooth time was calm because it lasted 12 hours longer than 13 hours. The same is true for WiFi, and it took about an hour when streaming was enabled. However, the most exhausted power is the screen, and the longer the screen use time, the shorter the battery duration. If the sleep function of the screen is completely disabled and the brightness is set to 75 %, the N6II will have a full charge of 6 hours or more (A01 module).  Comparison
 IBASSO DX200
 The Ibasso DX200 and 220 are equipped with removable modules and Android OS, probably the direct rivals of the N6II. 200 was originally shipped in Android 6, but was later updated to Oreo. I felt that the N6II was faster than the DX200, which is probably because of the large amount of N6II lamb. Both support wireless LAN, Bluetooth, USB DAC, OTG connection, etc., so the function set is similar. Both players are open android environments, so the choice of players is up to the end user. The default player (Ibasso's Mango) and the N6II Cayin brand players are almost the same, but the DX200 is a little easier to operate. The DX200 has a fixed module that can change the amplifier by ESS9028Pro DAC system and end users. If you have a certain memory, the DX series currently has nine modules and has more options than the N6II, but the DAC is fixed, so the overall future is a little inferior. In my ears, the DX200 equipped with a default amplifier module had less noise in sensitive IEMs and closer to neutral than A01. The T01 module is very close to what the genuine DX200 provides. The N6II is one step further than the DX200 (and DX220), and for those who are worried about future upgrades, the N6II has a wider headroom.
 
 These two have few common points other than the price. WM1A is not a module type, but there is a path for upgrading because it uses a programmable processor instead of a dedicated DAC chip. The N6II equipped with the A01 is warm and smooth, while the WM1A is a little bright, detailed, and transparent. In the case of the T01 module, the N6II is closer to WM1A, but it is not a little bright, and the treble details are slightly inferior (it is very difficult to divide these two). The UI is easier for WM1A, but it is very limited compared to the N6II. If you don't like Sony's genuine options, you can only say that you were lucky because it was a locked environment.  N6II is a complicated feeling. The exchanged module appeals to my frugal consciousness, but can the 1. 4GHz ARM processor continue to provide appropriate performance as the version of the improved android is released? In version 10 (current release), 4GB lamb has already been listed as an absolute minimum, and middl e-class mobile phones are currently equipped with 2. 2GHz and 2. 4GHz A73 processors. There is a higher possibility that the base unit will be a restricted factor than a module. If the nex t-generation Cayin player uses the same module, like Ibasso, it can save some of the initial investment, which will help reduce concerns.  Cayin N6II Review Accessories:
 
 It comes with a leather case, a USB 3 cable with a pretty sturdy braided cable, Cayin's 2. 5mm to 4. 4mm adapter, and a glass screen protector. The screen protector is already installed. The packaging, like the YB04 box, is very much in keeping with Cayin's general style. It comes with the A01 motherboard, but you also have the option to purchase the T01 motherboard.
 
 It has a line out, a 3. 5mm jack, and a 4. 4mm balanced headphone jack. It has SPDIF output over USB-C which is also the charging port, IIS output over mini HDMI, and a micro SD card port that can take SDHC and SHXC up to 512GB.
 
 Build Quality:
 
 The moment I first picked it up, I noticed how sturdy and heavy it felt. Not only does it have these features, it makes me want to replace my smartphone with it. The volume knob is very clicky when you turn it and it also works as a clicky power on/off button. There are also buttons for rewind/previous song, pause/play, and next/next song, both of which feel equally nice. General Usage
 
 My experience with the N6II Mk2 at home was one of providing great sound quality that highlights and surpasses everything my SDAC-B and Atoms can already do. The N6II Mk2 is somewhat portable, but for me, as my smartphone is too big to fit in my pocket, the N6II Mk2 was more convenient. The N6II Mk2 was not the most portable player I have seen. It is a bit too heavy, and it may be a problem in the summer as it gets a bit warm. But the case is well made to keep the heat almost unnoticeable. In general, I felt I needed to bring a bag and leave the N6II there if I wanted to keep my hands free to do other things. If there was something like an arm strap for the DAP, it might be better for using it outside while keeping my hands free.
 
 Interface
 
 For the most part, it felt snappy and adequate for an SD 425. It doesn't have the snappy feel of my LG v20 or the S8 I have at home. But I don't need the fastest experience from a DAP. The music player is completely lag-free and using something more energy efficient for more playtime is a big plus.
 
 Sound quality:
 
 A01: A01 is the most favorite of the two motherboards available at the N6II. Very warm and ful l-body sound. Originally, I thought the balance and atom of S-DAC were warm, but this is another dimension. I thought that YB04 was a little bright, so I greatly benefit this. The sound is very warm and not only relaxes, but also seems to raise YB04 to another level in all categories, such as the fine details, clarity of YB04, and the immersive YB04. Also, in a good sense, I felt that the middle range was softened a little in a good way. The benefits of YB04 were very large because the upper midrange felt a little too long ago. I didn't believe that DAC/ amplifier dramatically changes the sound, but I really woke up with this experience. HD 800, HD 580, and 250Ω of DT 990 were the most difficult to drive, but all headphones were able to drive without any problems. I had no choice but to use low gain with a maximum of 40/100 volumes.
 
 T01: T01 was also a great and wonderful level in detail, clarity, and immersive feeling. However, A01 had a better sense of sound field and imaging, and I felt more immersive. The middle range of YB04 seemed to be a little too long in my taste, and it was not a combination of my favorite. The bass is more neutral on YB04, similar to my atom and SDAC. T01 felt it would be better to combine it with my HD 580/650. When I heard it with my ears, I felt the same level of power.
 
 This is the reason I feel strongly about the first presentation of the product, and I feel it is really disappointing that the number of people will not do so. Aside from that, let's explain how this product was introduced.I also noticed popping noises between songs with different bitrates and samplerates. This happened with the A01 and the T01. For example, switching from a 16bit 44khz 600kbps song to 24bit 192khz 6000kbps causes the loudest popping noise. It was noticeable at first on both the T01 and the A01, but not as loud as I write this. I suspect it's heat buildup that makes it louder, but I'm not entirely sure. It made no difference whether I listened locally on the device or via the micro SD card. Also, I only use the Cayin Music app.
 
 Compared to my LG v20, it doesn't seem to have this issue, but that may be because it's just downscaling all music to a similar bit/sample rate.
 
 I don't really like Bluetooth because in my experience with TWS earphones, the hiss was terrible. I've tried the Bluetooth on the N6II Mk2 and noticed that it's much cleaner than the Bluetooth on my LG v20. It makes my cheap TWS earphones sound better. Pairing is also easy, very painless compared to the LG v20 which takes longer than it should.
 Cayin Music App: I have never used any apps other than Foobar2000 or the included app on the LG v20, but the Cayin Music App is decent. I had no issues with the interface, it was pretty feature packed and had everything I needed. The equalizer was decent in my experience, not as clean an EQ as I would use on a PC, but fine for on the go. The included replay gain worked well too, as my tracks have varying gains. I didn't encounter any issues, so no complaints. Cayin Music App:
 Power On Time:
 
 For this test, I set YB04 to 18/100 at low gain, HD 800 to 40/100 at low gain, and also used Cayin Music App. Screen was also set to 50/100, WiFi and BT were turned off.
 - In terms of sound quality, they are both best of vests and leaders.
 - I used Cayin N6ii Mk2 and felt that the volume knob was a bit too sensitive. If you raise and lower the volume knob, you will be disappointed. It may be better to have a button for volume. The N6II MK2 is quite full of functions, but I think it would be great if the battery could be replaced. In my case, in most cases, the battery has a day, but eventually the battery is not charged. I like the power on / off button with a click feeling, but if I can release it on the screen with a double tap, I think N6IIII MK2 will add a great function. The device itself is easy to attach fingerprints and is mainly attached to the screen and back.

 It's higher in the price I can buy now. But in my experience, I was surprised to see what I could do with YB04 and how much YB04 could stand out.  Sorry for the late reply. I don't think there is enough experience to call it the best sound quality. I'm pretty new in DAP games. However, especially the A01 likes warmy sound, so there is more decay in the bass and it feels like there is more body in the middle tone, so I also liked it.

 A few months have passed since I got this player, but my experience is very positive. Opening apps, changing music, scrapping trucks, and responding better than other players. In that respect, there is no problem at all. There are several problems. If the device is new, the number of Google Play services and the Google Play Store permissions will be disabled, and the battery consumption by the system will be very intense. You may need to click several times than you think, as using a volume wheel may not change the volume. After changing the permissions, the battery life was almost the same as the advertising, depending on whether you use a lot of files and screens, but you can listen for 12 to 14 hours.
 
 Sound A01: This card is a little used to my original device, so I'm a little used to it. If you want to express the sound, it's musical and smooth. You can be satisfied in all aspects, such as crisp performance, solid making, proper accessories, and sound flexibility corresponding to multiple sound cards. I often remember that to remember the sound I experienced with the tools I use every day. This is the first DAP review on Head-Fi, so it may not be very impressive.
 
 This review was strictly performed for Cayin Audio Tour. Thanks to Andy Kong for choosing me to experience the entire portable Cayin set.
 
 Let's start.
 
 Cayin N6II comes with a very sturdy and highly designed protective case. In the case, black leather and red thread are well harmonious, so that the case is not impaired. The case fits like gloves. The curve of N6II is well enhanced. The N6II also comes with a thick Type-C USB cable. This cable is probably the best DAP cable I have ever seen. The cable has a Velcro latch, it can be bundled properly, and the connector is golden. Probably to increase conductivity. The last accessory attached to the N6II is the 2. 5mm-4. 4mm AUX adapter. This adapter is slim and thin. The main reason is that the adapter is a right angle adapter. Also, because it is very sturdy, there is no need to worry about always using it. The N6II also comes with a screen protector.

 Cayin N6II does not control punches in terms of hardware. According to today's DAP standards, this certainly exceeds the general DAP specifications for hardware, and customized software is supported. It is a hig h-speed and convenient product for hig h-quality music enthusiasts.

 The N6II is equipped with an audio motherboard that can be replaced by user
 
 Build quality/ design:
 
 The N6II feels heavy to hold, but it's incredibly sturdy. It's mostly due to the material, but it feels very durable. The DAP's housing itself feels like it's made of aluminum. The N6II is surprisingly smooth and a little slippery. This is probably why Kayin included a protective case. What surprised me the most was the design of the power button on the N6II. The volume wheel on the top right of the DAP doubles as the power button. This is very convenient, but a little annoying because it's easy to accidentally increase or decrease it when taking it out of your pocket. The volume wheel also functions as standby on/off. (Editor: I heard that the first firmware for the N6II solves this problem by making the volume wheel inactive when the screen is off).
 
 Below the volume wheel are the rewind/previous, play/pause, and fast forward/next buttons. These button commands can be changed in the audio settings, except for play/pause. When you turn the volume wheel, you hear a small click. It feels solid, but not too hard, and it provides a good balance of volume control. The A01 audio motherboard blends in nicely with the back of the N6II. The 4. 4mm balanced output, 3. 5mm output, and 3. 5mm line output are all located at the top of the N6II. We have already uploaded an instruction video on replacing the audio motherboard. One more tidbit worth mentioning. The back of the N6II is made of beautiful glass, with the logo at the top center, and the DAP's power output and company information at the bottom. Another thing, the digital outputs (I2S and S/PDIF) are located at the bottom of the N6II, and the micro SD slot is located at the bottom left side of the device.

 Battery Performance:
 
 Let's briefly touch on the pros of the N6II. I tested the N6II for its battery performance and heat generation. I connected a Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO (250 Ohm) to the N6II (3. 5mm) with High Gain (VOL: 50/100). I also looped the Boston album "Boston" (DSD 2. 8MHz) for 4 hours. The battery started at 93% and dropped to 57% at the end of the test. There was almost no heat. I think it was around 80 degrees, but I don't have a thermometer. I have a lot of experience with temperature detection. It doesn't count in this case. The DAP remained slightly warm at room temperature. This is due to the 5, 900mah Li-ion battery being used properly. With this very large capacity battery, you don't need to charge the DAP frequently. Best of all, the N6II is QC 3. 0 compliant. It usually takes 1. 25 hours to fully charge the N6II from 50% to 100% with the included USB-C cable.

 - In terms of sound quality, they are both best of vests and leaders.
 - The combination of N6II and YB04/ULTRASONE SIGNATURE STUDIO created a unique and impressive experience. I would say that the N6II (A01) configuration provides a slightly warmer, more transparent, accurate, and refined sound. When listening to Three's Company's "Danny Boy", it was like being in a black void. There was only eternal darkness. It also felt a little warm. Then all of a sudden I heard a bass guitar strumming something emotional from the left. Then an alto sax from the left. Then a cymbal in the back center. I felt like I was in the middle of these three. I felt like I was part of the audience. It was so real. And then when the song ended I realized I wasn't actually there.
 Cayin N6II (Paired with Cayin YB04) w/A01 (4. 4mm):
 I tried using HDTRACKS hig h-resolution sampler to observe the capacity of Cayin N6II. I didn't disappoint. I felt like I was immersed in music. The channel supamation has been further improved and the dynamics have been improved. Imaging and queue are almost accurate and accurate. There is almost no noise floor. I heard Noah Wall's "Down by the Riverside" (FLAC 2 4-bit/96kHz), but the stage was very transparent. Considering the A01 AK4497EQ DAC, the atmosphere felt warm. Even if I didn't close my eyes, I felt floating. I felt like listening to her song with the guitarist on the left and right ends in front of the stage. There is a back singer right behind her. This experience made me smile and made me feel ecstatic.
 Conclusion:
 
 I think this N6II is a very valuable DAP. It's a little heavy and a little bulky. The N6II is excellent in the spatial depiction of the sound, and can express the stunning sound characteristics by fully utilizing the hardware. Not only that, the N6II has excellent software, excellent functionality, and to p-class hardware. Cayin's slogan "Never Be the Same" is exactly the case. After this experience, I came to see digital audio players from a completely new perspective. If you are looking for a DAP that is $ 1, 300 with a slightly warm, fascinating transparency and detailed sound with excellent battery life and excellent software, this is a strongly recommended DAP. is.

 Cayin is one of my favorite brands for making amplifiers, DACs, and portable players. My experience at Cayin began in 2014 and purchased the first flagship portable player N6. Later, he owned Cayin i5, Portable DAC C5, and of course his favorite vacuum tube amplifier HA300. In a way, I'm one of the few Cayin fans who witnessed the revolution of Cayin's tuning philosophy.
 
 Back to the point, the Cayin N6 for me was a crystal clear but cold and sharp reference machine. On the other hand, the I5 was a very warm, meaty but slightly muddy player. But both had great midrange appeal, and at that point, the midrange was the only vestige that kept my faith in Cayin. Until last year, I tried the HA300 and bought it immediately. The HA300 gave all my headphones the sound I was looking for (I can't stop talking about the HA300 every time, but I'll introduce it in another review soon). Also, that day, I realized that the revolution was over. Today, the sound of Cayin is very refined, smooth and elegant. It's no longer a sound that wanders between ice and fire, but a stable and comfortable sound.
 
 This year, I bought the N6ii without hesitation. With my faith in Cayin and my respect for the N6 that worked for me for 5 years.

 Packaging and Accessories
 
 The Cayin N6ii came in a huge box, with the player, Type-C cable, 2. 5mm(f)-4. 4mm(m) adapter, and instruction manual safely and quietly packed away. There was nothing special about the packaging or accessories, just a quick and easy one.
 
 Quality
 
 Cayin is always great in this section. Each part is very solidly built on the player. There is no wobble or rattle at all. The joints are tight and smooth. The only issue I have with the design and construction is that it's a bit big/thick for me.

 I'm a drummer, so I'm not very interested in vocals (laughs).
 
 I used the song "So Good" from Brian Calvatson's album "Live from Inside" to the base test. In the middle of this song, there is a rammer Jones bass (instrument) solo. This part is ideal for testing the clarity of the base, the speed of the response, and the overall base quality.
 
 The N6II can express all the sounds very clean and powerfully. When the lamar was slapping, my body was literally trembling. While he was playing the walkin g-based part, the N6II expressed the overtones very well. The N6II base is very lively and reaches a very deep place. Compared to other players, the bass of the N6II is thicker, weight, and colorful. Overall, 9/10 points.
 
 The middle range of the N6II is, like other Cayin devices, my favorite part, sweet, attractive and sophisticated. On the other hand, it turned out that Cayin has further improved the outstanding mids.
 
 Live from The Inside tested the instrumental part of the midrange using "Get It ON" and "All About You", and these two were tested the vocal part.
 
 Get it on contains a brass instrument trio (tenor saxophone, trombone, trumpet) in the middle part that covers the mi d-low range. The N6II is really good to separate each instrument when they are playing together. When the N6II is playing the entire album, the saxophone is really outstanding. N6II can give a warm and cozy feeling, both tenor saxophone, Bali saxophone, fast or late. "All About You" is the interaction of piano and tenor saxophone. The piano part is not as beautiful as brass, but it is still very fun. I can hear the piano a little artificially because of the warmth of the N6II.
 I think the N6II did a perfect job for the vocals, especially the vocals of the two. The powerful mi d-low range can summarize the sound of Kane Brown well. Thanks to the solid clarity in the midrange, you can hear any details from the unique lines of Kane Brown. While listening to Celine Dion, N6II's warm signature played a very important role. The Mid of the N6II was warm, lively and attractive. 9. 5 points/10 points as a whole.
 The treble of the N6II is dark. The trumpet, piano and cymbal treble are slightly thicker than my taste. However, the treble of the N6II is very smooth and smoother than my SP1000m. As a result of about one hour of audition, it is actually a good thing that the treble is a little dark. The whole sound of the N6II is more organized and musical. If you keep listening further, you will fall in love with the treble of the N6II and remember the headphones of the AUDEZE LCD series.
 The Mid of the N6II was warm, lively and attractive. 9. 5 points/10 points as a whole.
 Dynamic & speed
 The dynamic basically means how the device reflects the sound, from slowness to fast, from a state where there is no sound to a loud state. Personally, I like to review these two concepts. This is because these two concepts often determine whether the device can be heard vividly.
 Drums and stringed instruments are instruments that are a wonderful indicator for measuring these two concepts.
 
 I usually focus on drum trucks when testing a microdynamic. The drummer always plays at a different volume in the song or in one bar. When I was listening to drum solo, the N6II was able to clearly pick up such small changes. However, when I listened to "MOUNTAINS", N6II's Macro Dynamic was not very impressive. In particular, compared to the SP1000M, the volume change in the stringed instrument was not so large. Some are a little hard.
 - In terms of sound quality, they are both best of vests and leaders.
 - Therefore, this section will only get 7/10 points. The N6II is still a very lively sound and is clearly more fluctuating than a player like R6. You can see that the volume and speed change, but it's not as important as beautiful (imagine Dwayne Johnson dancing like Michael Jackson).
 The soundstage of the N6ii is average, again not as prominent as the EQ balance. Much better than the R6 and similar intro-midrange players, but not as big as the sp1000m.
 
 In a similar price range, I recently tried the Colorfly U8 and R6pro for a very short time. The N6ii sits in between these two players, a bit smaller than the U8 and bigger than the R6pro. The N6ii is spacious enough for most genres, but probably not for OSTs or classical music.

 The N6ii is very versatile when it comes to pairing IEMs. It is very powerful and I have to say it drives the Tribute 7 better than the sp1000m. All the pure BA IEMs I tested sound pretty good with the N6ii, especially the A18t, which is magical. The A18t sounds very musical with the N6ii, which is hard to believe (the A18t was never a musical IEM for me). The Tia Forte is not so good with the N6ii. The N6ii has the power to pull the treble down a little with the TF. But the TF was trying to push the treble back to its original position. As a result, the treble of this pair was usually located in a very strange area. I had the same problem with the A18t and the sp1000m.
 
 I don't feel any background noise from these pairs, but the background doesn't seem to be as dark as the sp1000m.

 OS and other
 
 The OS is really clean and smooth. It's pretty close to the Hiby player. Google Play Store is pre-installed. App download speed is faster than the R6. It took only 1 second or less to download Tidal! In-app download speed is also faster than the sp1000m. I think this is because of the better Wi-Fi signal reception. I put the router in my living room and got full signal on my Samsung S10, 85% on my N6ii, about 75-70% on my R6, and a little less on my sp1000m.
 
 As for the battery, I didn't use it for a full cycle, but I played it all night and it still had 38% when I woke up, so it should be fine for at least 12 hours. I've never used it outdoors, so I don't know how hot it gets, but it shouldn't be a problem for indoor use (I've read reviews that say it gets a little hot when used outdoors in the summer).
 
 I have not experienced system failure. The screen is very smooth and nothing like the DX200. When I downloaded music from Tidal and listened to local music, I had a lag only once when I updated the system. There was a lag for about 3 minutes, but after the system was updated, everything was working without any problems.
 I think the N6II is a wonderful release from Cayin. It has inherited all the good traditions of Cayin, including reliable build quality and sophisticated tuning. I think the N6II has enough functions to make a difference in the portable player market, one of the most competitive price range, and is in the 1, 000 yen range. Cayin also believes that it will release some amplifiers that can improve the current sound defects. For now, I regret having bought SP1000m at double price. The N6II has enough performance to enjoy music while going to any place.
